2012 is the year that predicted by the mayan people will be the end of the world, according to their calendar and December 21, 2012 is the last date on the mayan calendar. The calculation of the calender is interpreted by many people as a prophecy that declares if the end of the civilization and the end of the world is coming. Because of the very famous prophecy, so one of the well-known movie director, Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow) creates a doomsday-themed movie secretly. The movie shocks the entire world. Many people eager to watch this movie regardless of the length of the queue In Indonesia, the movie makes a lot of people excited about going to the cinema just to watch this movie. Even about a month after the movie premiere there were still a lot of people in the long queues, because people want to know what kind of doomsday will happen in 2012.

Adrian Helmsley, american geologists found that the effects of Sun Storm has raised the core temperature of the earth rapidly. He goes immediately to Washington to notify the President of the United States that the storm will result in the emergence of a series of natural events that will make the world end. Then, they decide to make some huge ships (Arks), which can carry 400 000 people to save the human civilization. Elsewhere, Curtis Jackson, a writer of science fiction stories and also a part-time driver knows that the apocalypse will happen momentarily. Then he comes to save his former wife and his children from the apocalypse. The movie shows how Jackson struggles to save his family and mankind from the Apocalypse.
