The Lord of the Rings Trilogy! The matchless trilogy ever for me. For everybody who loves blu-ray would buy this masterpiece in an instant. The blu-ray version initially will be released on November 3, 2009, but without any explicit reason from Warner Home Video, the blu-ray version was postponed. After some time, the blu-ray version finally release on April 6, 2010. Everyone speculated if the postpone occurred because they will release the extended version and they were all wrong. Unfortunately, there is no such thing like the extended version as they thought. Whereas, the difference between the extended version of the film and the theatrical version is very significant. It's 125 minutes longer! They may release the extended version next year.

I myself really love this trilogy. I think this film is the best trilogy ever since The Godfather Trilogy. This film is about a journey. A courageous journey of the fellowship of the ring who would destroy The Ring. The main character of the film is Frodo Baggins, a young hobbit accompanied by his gardener named Samwise and other hobbits Merry and Pippin. Led by a wizard, Gandalf and protected by four brave soldiers, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir. They fight the Dark Lord Sauron who want to take the ring back to conquer the Middle-Earth. Will they succeed? You'll find out the answer after you watch.

Personal Rating:
The Fellowship of the Ring : 8/10
The Two Tower : 8.5/10
The Return of the King : 9.5/10
For the Picture Quality/Video Quality, i give the "least" for The Fellowship of the Ring due to the lack of the technologies on the year the film produced and because the first film has smaller production budgets than the sequels. The CGI effects look less amazing it is, despite being very much better than the DVD version.
There have been improvements in the CGI effects for The Two Towers. The scenery in the Kingdom of Rohan, and the Battle at the end of the movie was better.
The Return of the King has the best video quality among all the three films. I guess it's because of learning from previous mistakes so don't be surprised if the Picture Quality is amazing.

The Fellowship of the Ring : 9.5/10
The Two Tower : 10/10
The Return of the King : 10/10
The Sound Quality of this trilogy is the best. It almost has no gap, supported by the DTS-HD MasterAudio 5.1. The dialogue is clear and clean, during the wars the sound is so amazing and produces some booming voice, and the film score at the end is perfect. I believe almost everyone who has watched The Lord of the Rings blu-ray version is certainly agree with me, especially if also supported by the latest home theater.
Extras : 5/10
The Extras of this trilogy is quite disappointing. The extended version which is expected by many people apparently doesn't exist. Special Features of the blu-ray version is almost entirely the same as the one on the DVD version.
Overall : 8.1/10
The Overall assessment is good. Actually it can get a very good grades or perfect if the package provides the extended version as well, and also with the existence of some additional features that don't exist on the DVD version. The best element of this blu-ray is the sound quality, which almost got a perfect score. The difference of blu-ray compared to regular DVD doesn't solely on the picture/video quality, but the sound quality is also very different.
That's my review, thanks.
